     Maine School Administrative District No. 57 is located in York County in Southwestern Maine and is comprised of the six towns of Alfred, Limerick, Lyman, Newfield, Shapleigh and Waterboro with a total population of over 15,000 residents. Massabesic High School opened in 1969 with an enrollment of 342 students in grades 9 through 12. Celebrating our 40th year during the upcoming 2009-2010 school year our enrollment has grown to over 1,200 students. MHS is accredited with the New England Association of Schools and Colleges as well as the Maine Department of Education.
