Ann Ross ~ PAL's 2001 Artist-In-Residence
Ann's enthusiasm for dance is contagious!
Notes on the PAL residency: The
3rd graders in MSAD #57 learned modern dance and
interpretive movements based on music and cultures from six
continents: North and South America, Africa, Europe, Asia
and Australia. Artist-In-Residence Ann Ross met with each
3rd grade class in the district four times over a period of
three weeks. Each school prepared a culminating performance
for their school and community. Although the photos below are
from the Shapleigh Memorial School and Line Elementary
School residencies, Dr. Ann Ross , a professor and dance
instructor at the University of Maine in Orono, was in
residency at all MSAD #57 elementary schools during the last
weeks of September, beginning of October. The students are
still talking about their Australian stick dancing!
