Renewal - 2002-2004
**MSAD #57 PAL was awarded a second renewal grant for 2005-2007!

vision...The vision of the MSAD #57 PAL team is a school environment where a lifelong appreciation for the intrinsic value of all the arts is nurtured.

purpose/mission...
Our mission is to foster and promote a diverse environment in the arts in which all children in MSAD #57 will have a variety of experiences, specifically dance and theater, which are not addressed in the arts curriculum.

overview of district success...

goals...

1st Year - Students will learn how to use improvisation to communicate ideas.
Activity: All 3rd graders in the school district will participate in a movement/dance residency.


2nd Year - School Committee will understand and continue to fund the activities sponsored by the PAL committee.


Activity: PAL Committee will provide guidance to the school committee in their need to comply with the ME Learning Results in the area of the arts.


3rd Year - 3rd grade teachers will learn how to integrate movement into their curricula.
Activity: 3rd grade teachers will participate in professional development activities in movement.

Interviews with students.
Teacher response survey
Student illustrations.
Student writings, journal entries.
Community response to the performance.

who is responsible...
The PAL chair together with the PAL committee will make sure that the goals are met and activities completed. A designated liason for each elementary school will be selected by September 2003.

pal funds...Money will be used to pay for artist residencies.
